Collagen Polypeptide: A completely vegan, human skin-identical collagen, produced through sustainable biological fermentation, that stimulates the skin’s natural collagen production leading
to a significant increase in collagen content. It enhances skin firmness and elasticity and diminishes the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines while unveiling a remarkably youthful complexion.

CM-5S™ Blend: A proprietary botanical blend containing 5 botanicals cultivated and harvested in Sicily: Cappers, Manna, Tomato, Grapes and Prickly pears. Each of these plants undergoes a specialised hyperfermentation process to optimise the bioavailability of its active compounds and offer enhanced efficacy. The selection of these specific Sicilian botanicals is rooted in their traditional uses and documented phytochemical profiles, suggesting a synergistic effect when combined and hyperfermented.

In vitro tests (using reconstructed human skin models) showed that our CM-5S™ blend, when applied seven times over a 10-day period, significantly boosted the production of Pro-Collagen I
compared to untreated samples. This indicates that CM-5STM blend stimulates the creation of new collagen. Overall, treatments with this blend have shown a notable activation of fibroblast metabolism, leading to increased Pro-Collagen I synthesis. This enhanced collagen production leads to a remarkable increase in overall collagen content and ultimately improves the tensile
strength of the dermis. Quantitative analysis revealed that this blend led to an increase of over 600% in collagen-boosting activity.

Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum): Our Siccagno tomatoes, cultivated in the lower Madonie mountains of Sicily, are notable for their exceptionally high antioxidant content, a direct result of
their distinctive growing methods. The predominant antioxidant found in these tomatoes is lycopene, followed by beta-carotene (a precursor to Vitamin A) and Vitamin C. The concentration of lycopene in Siccagno tomatoes significantly surpasses that found in
conventionally grown varieties. Beyond imparting their characteristic deep red colour, lycopene acts as a potent antioxidant, safeguarding cells from damage caused by free radicals, which are causing premature skin aging. Lycopene also has anti-inflammatory, and photoprotective properties. By inhibiting metalloproteases, enzymes responsible for the breakdown of collagen and elastin, lycopene stimulates collagen production and protects existing collagen and elastin fibers.

Grape (Vitis vinifera): Zelens uses the skin of red organic grapes, which contains high concentration of polyphenols, particularly resveratrol and flavonoids – anthocyanins. These compounds are renowned for their exceptional antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, photoprotective and antimicrobial properties, which are vital in maintaining healthy skin and actively combating
against the visible signs of premature aging. Prickly pear (Opuntia ficus-indica): We are using the internal part of the juicy leaves of prickly pears organically grown in central parts of Sicily, rich in a specific mixture of polysaccharides
that mimic the hydrating action of hyaluronic acid. This forms a protective film on the skin's surface that effectively locks in moisture and reduces transepidermal water loss (TEWL), thereby maintaining optimal skin hydration. Beyond its moisturizing capabilities, prickly pear also supports the skin's natural barrier function, aids in wound healing, and provides protection against environmental stressors and irritation. These protective effects are attributed to its potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. In vitro studies have further demonstrate that prickly pear extracts can significantly reduce the release of pro-inflammatory interleukins, highlighting its potential in mitigating skin inflammation.

Oligopeptide-2: A biomimetic Insulin-like Growth Factor-1 (plant-IGF1). Promotes epidermal regeneration. Protects, detoxifies and clears damaged skin proteins due to UV exposure, pollution and oxidative stress.

Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7: Inhibits the inflammatory response by downregulating IL-6 and stimulates the synthesis of Laminin V and collagen IV and VII. The synergistic effect of these activities leads to improved skin firmness, elasticity and smoothness.

Dipeptide-2: Demonstrates strong anti-puffiness activity through the inhibition of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE). This mechanism promotes microvascular vasodilation, improves localised blood flow and enhances lymphatic exchange (drainage of interstitial fluid).

Acetyl Tetrapeptide-9: Promotes dermal remodelling by stimulation production of Collagen I and basement membrane glycans. This results in firming and plumping of the skin. Stimulates the expression of type I Collagen and basement membrane glucans (glycosaminoglycans and proteoglycans). This dual action enhances the skin's structural framework, resulting in increased
dermal density.

obtained from shiso leaf which demonstrates excellent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-allergic properties. Shiso leaf has been used for years in Kampo medicine due to its strong detox properties and ability to prevent skin reactivity and soothe sensitive skin.

Glycerin: A vegetable-derived molecule naturally present in the skin. Acts as an excellent humectant, a substance that attracts moisture from the environment and increases the amount of water in the surface layers of the skin.
